Gloriosa Tulip

Studio Angela

Original affordable paintings & drawings in a variety of mediums, both figurative & abstract by International selling artist Angela Stanbridge MA Fine Art.

In 2010 I completed 3 years at The University of Northampton gaining a first class BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art Painting. In 2011 I completed an MA in Fine Art also at the University of Northampton.

The process of transforming paint and other materials into images continues to compel and challenge me. Over the years, that process has led me from realistic drawing & painting to most recently through my degree course the pursuit of experimental abstract processes, eventually going back to realism. Painting fills me with a sense of well-being, and has proven to be a satisfying way for me to translate my visual ideas into a physical reality.

This exhibition is very much a ‘home coming’ for Angela.  Angela attended John Lea School in Wellingborough where her artist abilities were encouraged by head of art at the school Hubert Pack. The very first exhibition Angela had a painting exhibited in was also at the Tithe Barn in Wellingborough, where Hubert Pack entered an oil painting of Angela’s as part of the Wellingborough Art Society’s Annual Exhibition after they asked local senior schools to enter a painting by a student who had promising artistic abilities.

Tulips is an exhibition of recent work by Northamptonshire professional artists and MA in Fine Art graduate from the University of Northampton. This exhibition demonstrate Angela’s obsession with the endless variety of patterns and shapes plus the intense colours of tulips. For Angela “Nature is ever changing; there is beauty to behold in every step. Each of us has the choice of simply seeing a tulip or something much more. I love to take tulips and enhance their drama, which can allow you to view them in a completely different way”. Angela is a botanical artist who adds a modern & abstract twist to her work that draws you to look at tulips in a new light.

She has recently had work selected for the Society of Botanical Artists Annual Exhibition in London, plus has been part of the joint exhibition ‘Tidelines & Tulips’ at The Rugby Art Gallery & Museum and recent solo exhibition at The Charles Rennie Mackintosh House & Galleries, 78 Derngate, Northampton.
